Rick's Cabaret Converts Its Charlotte Location To An Upscale Club Onyx; It Will Cater To African-American Gentlemen

CHARLOTTE -(December 11, 2006)- Rick's Cabaret International, Inc. [NASDAQ:RICK], the publicly traded chain of gentlemen's clubs, is converting its Charlotte location to Club Onyx, an upscale gentlemen's club catering to African-American men. The new club at 5300 Old Pineville Road will have a gala three-night grand opening December 14th – 16th.   
 
The grand opening will be highlighted by special guest DJs from Power 98, the market-leading Charlotte hip hop station, plus, R.P. Cola, the famous DJ from the Houston Club Onyx, who is associated with top hip hop artists. The celebrated Club Onyx Feature Dancers will fly in from Houston to perform each night of the grand opening gala.
 
The new Charlotte night spot is the third Club Onyx launched by Rick's Cabaret, which pioneered the concept of an adult nightclub featuring topless dancers in a luxurious setting in the 1980s. This theme was extended to serve the African-American demographic in Houston in 2004 when the first Club Onyx opened. It has become particularly popular among professional athletes and is now part of the city's burgeoning hip-hop music scene. Another Club Onyx opened in San Antonio in July of this year.

Rick's Cabaret acquired the 30,000 square foot Charlotte club in mid 2005. In addition to the cabaret, the venue also hosts a traditional nightclub and a club that features entertainment by male dancers for women.
